Narrative
Set thousands of years before the events of JRR
Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the epic drama tells the story of a group of characters, familiar and new, who resist the long-awaited revival of evil in Middle-earth. The cast of “The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power” and other actors who completely transformed for their roles. Amazon’s original plan to acquire the television rights to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.
Amazon eventually won the rights on the condition that the series would differ from Peter Jackson’s earlier adaptations, and that they could not contradict anything Tolkien had previously written
RR Tolkien’s novels was to make the series a new adaptation of the latter (actually a retelling of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return king (2003)), but Tolkien’s heirs rejected this proposal. Early ideas that came up included prequel stories with characters like Aragorn, Gimli, and Gandalf, but the showrunners preferred to focus on important untold events from the novels’ history rather than simple side stories, so they agreed with the studio that the series would take place during the Second Age of Books. Since they didn’t have the rights to Tolkien’s Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and History of Middle-earth (which explore the First and Second Ages), they checked the Lord of the Rings novels and supplements for passages and references to the Second Age in which to place their story.
The Silmarillion by RR Tolkien
They consulted with heirs and several Tolkien experts (including grandson and writer Simon Tolkien) about the inclusion of new characters and plot elements. In the credits of the dubbing in several languages, King Durin III is mistakenly called “Durin II”. The opening credits are a musical sequence of matter forming various forms, based on the creation myth “Music of the Ainur” from the novel J.

A pleasant surprise, the cinematography is impeccable, the characters are quite well done, the plot seems to be a link between the stories of the First Age, The Silmarillion and the stories of The Lord of the Rings of the Third Age, the pace of the film’s narration is pleasant, if a little slow. If the series results in the story of how Sauron forged the Ring of Power, it will definitely be something worth watching. Up to this point, I think overall, at least the first chapter is delivering.
Again I must add that I am pleasantly surprised
I think it’s enough to be cautiously optimistic about what the next 7 episodes might hold. Check out the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in all their most famous roles, from Morfidd Clarke in Saint Maude to Benjamin Walker in President Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and more.
